Bio

Headshot of a brunette woman with flags behind herMaria Eliades is an award-winning podcast host and producer, writer, and strategic communications and marketing professional who lives in Washington, DC after many years abroad. She has lived and traveled extensively throughout the US, Europe, the UK, Greece, and Turkey. Her professional experiences include working at the State Department where she developed the traveling photo exhibition, Impact of Exchange as well as hosting the Live Instagram show, MentorTalks, and producing the award-winning podcast, Voices of Exchange; teaching at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey; and having a notable essay mentioned in Best American Essays 2018.

Maria holds a Masters Degree in Modern Languages with a focus in Greek and Turkish from the University of Oxford, and a BA in English Literature with minors in Writing and Classical Studies from Drew University. She attended the inaugural Disquiet International Literary Program and has been a writer in residence at the International Writers’ and Translators’ Center in Rhodes, Greece and the Mudhouse Residency in Crete, Greece.
